One Knowsley scoops award at prestigious regional event for its eco investment.
Last week, One Knowsley scooped the prestigious Environmental Champions award.
The Liverpool Echo Environment awards recognise those organisations across the city region making a substantial contribution to the environment. The awards ceremony, sponsored by United Utilities, took place last week at the dazzling Isla Gladstone Conservatory, Liverpool.
The award was a recognition for the work that One Knowsley has done, with it’s investment to ensure that it’s new Court Hey Park site has a zero carbon footprint, through the use of Solar Panels and Heat Pumps.
The site will bring about a new green renaissance within Knowsley and further the aims of providing a cornerstone asset for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector within the borough; the site being a key resource in the role of Green Social Prescribing.
As the Echo reported “A voice for more than 800 groups, One Knowsley is an independent, trusted body which provides expertise and support for not-for-profit organisations. It is investing in the refurbishment of two Court Hey Park buildings to improve the borough’s green credentials, creating a lasting legacy.“
Other winners on the same night included Liverpool Tool Library as a New Green Business of the Year and Hype Urban Bicycles for it’s role in recycling bicycles and making cycling more accessible. There is a full list of nominees and winners on the Liverpool Echo Website.
