One Knowsley’s Winter HAF Grant Programme is Open!

 

One Knowsley will be awarding HAF Grants throughout this year, to Knowsley schools, charity, voluntary and community sector organisations and businesses to deliver HAF holiday provision for children and young people aged 5 – 16 years who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals during the Easter, Summer and Christmas 2022 holiday periods.

Applying for HAF Funding

Please read the Winter HAF Application Guidance and Winter Frequently Asked Questions before completing our online application form.

Deadline for submission of Winter HAF Grant applications is 4pm Wednesday 9 November 2022. We also require supporting information of up-to-date policies, insurance and a formatted finance & budget breakdown document before the grant deadline submission.

Please submit your grant application form online. This function will close at 4pm Wednesday 9 November 2022.

Grant applications must seek to provide at least four hours of activity, over 1 designated week during the 2022 Christmas Holidays. We have identified the week of Monday 19 December – Friday 23 December ONLY for Winter HAF delivery to take place.

Successful grant applicants can start HAF activities: Week beginning Monday 19 December and must end on Friday 23 December 2022. HAF activity must cover 4 hrs each day, for up to 4 days within above timeframe.

Main points to consider before applying for a Knowsley HAF Grant are:

Does your organisation work with children and young people (5 – 16yrs) in Knowsley?

Are you able to provide diverse, high in quality, safe activities and healthy food for at least four hours, for four days a week?

Are you a constituted community group or registered company with appropriate and up to date policies and insurances in place?

All successful applications must have the following:

  • Up-to-date safeguarding policy (including the safe recruitment of staff and volunteers)
  • Up-to-date health, safety and wellbeing policy
  • Up-to-date accessibility and inclusiveness policy and/or an equality & diversity policy
  • Relevant insurance policies (e.g. Public Liability Certificate). Your insurance policy must reflect the activities being carried out as part of the HAF programme.

What will the programme fund?

The purpose of the funding is to provide free school holiday provision for children aged 5 – 16yrs – which includes healthy food and enriching activities to school-aged children eligible for benefits related to Free School Meals (FSM).

Our HAF Grant Application programmes will be available for Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays across Knowsley in 2022.

Your provision must support children, young people and families to:

  • Eat more healthily in school holidays
  • Be more active in school holidays
  • Take part in engaging and enriching activities
  • Be safe and not isolated
  • Have greater knowledge of health and nutrition
  • Be more engaged with school and other services
