Impact Case Study 1

Within 24 hours of a Risk MOT via our CSR partnership with Butterworth Spengler a small charity secured higher quality cover, mitigating risk to the charity and achieving a budget line saving of £700.

This saving was reprofiled into direct delivery securing 70 hours of sessional outreach to the most isolated older people within Knowsley Communities.

Impact Case Study 2

Just a quick message to thank you for today’s event and say how much I enjoyed it. I believe that One Knowsley has made a tremendous difference for our sector over the past year or two and the latest Working Better Together session was no exception.

The networking opportunities you facilitate are priceless. I personally developed four excellent contacts which I have followed up and will hopefully enable us to:

  • Extend our services to different communities
  • Raise awareness with young people about disability hate crime
  • Improve our offer of activities via The BIG Group
  • Explore the formation of a new strategic partnership to increase our payroll customer base, thus improving our financial viability and sustainability.

Impact Testimonial KDC

KPAIS has been through quite significant changes over the last 2 years and has dealt with some difficult challenges.

Some of this has been daunting and we have been fortunate enough to have had the support of One Knowsley throughout that time.

It was so important to us to be able to contact an organisation that was:

a) knowledgeable about our issues

b) was independent and approachable

c) was there when we needed them!

We have grown and changed, developing new services and continually up-skilling with One Knowsley support.

We signed up for their membership in 2018 and have taken advantage of what is on offer to members, which has been invaluable.

Over many years as an advocacy service, we have helped older people to maintain and retain their independence, to gather information to make decisions and to stay in control of their choices.  And this is what One Knowsley have done for us.  We look forward to continue our successful working relationship into the future.

Impact Testimonial KPAIS

The Swanside and Roby Councillors are both active and innovative in developing ways to improve our community and its sustainability. CSR is one way of leveraging resources from the private sector to support the community they operate.

The Councillors have engaged our Local Schools, Churches and Community Centres in identifying what needs maintaining and improving thus making a positive impact to their users and the wider community.

The list of interventions obtained through the engagement exercise enabled the Councillors to canvas Local and National Companies for support through OneKnowsley. OneKnowsley are ideally positioned to signpost organisations and companies who wish to discharge their social value agenda in Knowsley for the benefit of its residents and wider community.

The Councillors organised a “Community Action Day” on 3rdSeptember 2019.  I am pleased that through OneKnowsley ten companies expressed an interest in terms of sending staff, materials and/or making a financial contribution to the community assets. We had approximately eighty people painting, cleaning, cutting grass, pruning trees, installing bird and insect boxes and litter picking at St. Barts Church, Swanside and Roby Community Centres.

The work undertaken has improved the community assets and will make them more sustainable and attractive for new groups and residents to attend. These facilities are a focal point for our community and are valued by residents.

The Swanside and Roby Councillors will be organising another community action day in 2020, without the support and network of contacts that OneKnowsley has the event would not be as successful.

We are very grateful to have OneKnowsley as a strategic partner in our Social Value agenda!

Impact Testimonial Knowsley Council

ENGIE have a strong CSR policy and our values are fully aligned with local authorities within the Merseyside area in focusing on creating opportunities for residents, supporting local businesses and protecting the environment.

Given ENGIE’s interest for investment within Knowsley, it was felt that providing support to local community groups at an early stage would be beneficial to the local communities, therefore we engaged with One Knowsley for assistance in providing voluntary placements for our Land & Partnerships team to support in any way possible to benefit of its residents and wider community.

One Knowsley supported ENGIE in identifying the Swanside and Roby Community Action Day as a suitable date and assisted in liaising with the organiser of the event to ensure we could be of assistance.

On the day we were accompanied by other private organisations and we undertook tasks such as cutting grass and pruning trees at the local church yard to make it more attractive for residents to visit their loved ones and spend time around the facilities.

The support of One Knowsley was greatly appreciated, and we look forward to working with them again to help the local community in Knowsley.

I am the person who has responsibility for the grounds maintenance at St. Bartholomew’s Church.

On behalf of all the members of  the church and the people who visit the graves at the church, can I thank you all, most sincerely, for all your hard work during the  Action Day. The work you carried out was a huge help to the small band of volunteers and myself, who regularly endeavor to cut andstrim the grass, remove and recycle rubbish left in the grounds and prune and cut back the trees and bushes. I was impressed by  everyone’s efforts, willingness and good humour, which made the day so enjoyable.

Please pass on our thanks to all those who gave up their time on the day.
