Knowsley Pride is set to return on Saturday 19 July 2025, following the incredible success of last year’s inaugural event, which welcomed more than 3,000 attendees from across the borough and beyond.
Taking place once again at Court Hey Park, the main Pride celebration will run from 12pm to 2pm, and marks the culmination of a full week of Pride activity across Knowsley.
Now in its second year, Knowsley Pride continues to grow as a vibrant, inclusive celebration of equality and LGBTQ+ identity in the borough. The event has been spearheaded by the Knowsley Pride Steering Group – a collective of public, private, and community partners – and is supported by organisations across the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Knowsley.
Ahead of the main Pride celebration on 19 July, community partners will deliver a programme of events and activity throughout the week, enabled by funding through the legacy of Michael Causer, One Knowsley.
The funding is once again available for Knowsley VCFSE organisations to apply and help bring community-led Pride activity to life in every part of the borough.
As part of the borough-wide celebration, Shakespeare North Playhouse will host a vibrant programme of Pride-related events, including the one-night-only Shakespeare’s Sister Siter with Drag Race UK star Sister Sister. Sahir, the Liverpool City Region’s largest and oldest LGBTQ+ charity, will lead a series of workshops, and present the powerful UK AIDS Memorial Quilt exhibition at Shakespeare North Playhouse.
Racheal Jones, CEO of One Knowsley, said:
“We were blown away by the energy and togetherness of last year’s Pride, and we’re excited to build on that momentum this July. Pride in Knowsley is about much more than just one day — it’s a celebration of visibility and the power of community. Holding this year’s event on a Saturday opens it up to even more people and gives us another chance to stand together in pride and solidarity.”
Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council said:
“I am incredibly pleased to see Knowsley Pride return for its second year. Last year’s event was a landmark occasion for our borough, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
“The overwhelming turnout of over 3,000 attendees showed the true spirit of Knowsley, and I’m confident that this year, with an expanded week of activities and strong partnerships, Knowsley Pride will be even bigger and better. It’s a vital celebration that reinforces our message that Knowsley is a place where everyone is welcome.”
Knowsley Pride is a free event and open to everyone. Attendees can expect music, community stalls, performances and opportunities to connect and celebrate inclusivity in all its forms.
