Leadership & Support

We lead by helping to amplify the voice and insight for the local VCFSE sector, advocating for the changes they need to provide effective services and support to those in their care.

By mobilising local VCFSE activity at scale, we can not only listen and share insights, but we can also deliver significant impact within our communities. Examples of this include our work during the Covid-19 pandemic, Vaccine Champions and the HAF programme.

Through our various engagement networks, organisations have the opportunity to take part in workshops, seminars, training sessions, round tables and panel events, where they gain a unique platform to express their own perspectives and experiences and engage with future change-makers. Crucially, we also help organisations to access grants and other funding streams to transform their ambitions into reality, showcasing their potential to effect change and encouraging third parties to share our belief.

Experience and expertise

We have been working here, in the heart of the Knowsley community, for more than 40 years. During that time, we have worked alongside countless VCFSE  that aim to support the local community in matters as diverse as health, social care, child development, food poverty, homelessness, disability, faith and gender equality.

Our talented team can tap into a rich seam of knowledge to support local organisations from the first inception of an idea through to delivery, scale up or consolidation of plans.

Network knowledge

Our thriving network of contacts and partners affords us a wealth of expertise across a wide range of specialisms.

Where a VCFSE organisation needs professional support with issues such as legal, financial, people or property matters, we can guide them to the right private or public sector partner. Alternatively, if a larger body needs genuine community insight or support to reach and engage communities to deliver its campaign, we can use that network to make introductions and facilitate opportunities to achieve mutual benefit. We support private sector enterprise to maximise their CSR and ESG working with local communities including support and guidance with Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV).

Meanwhile, our Community of Practice (COP) networks provide not-for-profits with access to resources, peer support and expertise, when and where they need it. The different COP groups cover areas such as frontline delivery, social enterprise, community assets and volunteering.

Regional focus

While Knowsley is our central geographical focus, we recognise the benefits to our borough of liaising across the Liverpool City Region and beyond. By working with bodies such as the Combined Authority or NHS partners including Trusts, we are able to bring their scale of influence to bear on behalf of the people and organisations of Knowsley.

Our CEO is the LCR VCFSE representative within the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System Health Care Partnership Board as the regional secondee for the VS6 Partnership meaning we are able to express a clear, unified voice among our peers on behalf of the organisations that we support and represent.
