Volunteering
One Knowsley is the accredited volunteer centre in Knowsley, supporting Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIO) with a range of tools and resources. This includes the Volunteering Hub a digital volunteering platform that connects to Liverpool City Region, hosted by Team Kinetic.
Volunteering offers a wide range of opportunities for organisations and individuals.
For VCFSE bodies, it allows them to provide additional levels of service or extended programmes compared to what they may normally be able to offer. Volunteers can also bring new or specialist skills that in-house staff may not possess, allowing the organisation to enhance the quality of its services.
For individuals, volunteering can strengthen their ties with the local community and introduce them to people with similar interests. It can also support their wellbeing by reducing stress, renewing a sense of purpose, putting their skills to good use and providing a solid support base of new contacts and friends.
We also provide:
- Information, training and support for organisations who recruit and manage volunteers
- Policy development and advice on best practice
- Training for volunteer involving organisations and support for volunteer supporting managers
- Promotion and development of volunteering locally
- Social prescribing
- One Knowsley promotes a best practice framework – One Approach to Volunteering
Every person is welcome to register as a volunteer, no matter their background or experiences, and we hope to make each experience meaningful.
